Check the blogroll updates!

I've made a few tweaks and changes to the blogroll over there in that right hand column.

I've deleted a few things that were no longer active, and added blogs that are newish or that are personal recent discoveries.

In particular, check out Melissa Hillman's Bitter Gertrude if you haven't already for an Artistic Director's perspective on the theater world, and both the Works by Women and Works by Women SF sites for interviews and other resources for women theater makers.

Works by Women and Works by Women SF are also meetup groups with regular opportunities to see shows where women theatremakers are prominently featured.

As a co-host of WWSF, it's been really terrific to be able to support and learn more about what women theater makers are doing in the region.  Our next event is this Sunday, and it would be great to see you there!

Now taking requests

Just wanted to point out that I've added a note to the sidebar - I'm fielding questions and topic suggestions from readers - see how to suggest, or question by scrolling down!

Mary and Maryssa - check them out!

What do these ladies have in common?  Not only the first four letters of their names, but they're also both actors, and both bloggers (and they've both written actual comments on this blog - thanks!).

Thought you might like to look at their blogs, so here's where you find 'em!

Mary's blog: Mary has been blogging daily (or almost daily) since finishing grad school and moving to NYC.  Keep up w/her through the ins and outs of EPAs, day jobs, and her daily routines.

Maryssa's blog:  Maryssa is an actor, but also loves food and cooking, so her blog is full of recipes, restaurant recommendations and food news.  It's thanks to Maryssa that I know you can massage kale!

Both of these women are super talented, so check them out!

Resource of the Week: Blogroll

So, I've been working on the blogroll feature of this blog, and there's a lot of good stuff over there!  I want to point out especially the working actor's advice in Bonnie Gillespie's The Actor's Voice. Bonnie is an LA based casting director, and her column and column archives are full of helpful info.  I also particularly enjoy the day to day exploits of both The Working Actress and The Struggling Actress.

There are several blogs which chronicle the Bay Area theater scene over there, including Chad Jones's blog, and The Idiolect (written by TBA's Sam Hurwitt).

And a few places to get in discussions about the bigger picture of the theater world: 2amt (asking the theater questions that keep you up at 2am.  And Parabasis, which used to talk theater more exclusively, but is changing into a slightly broader blog.

And, you're using a feed reader to keep track of the blogs you like to read, right?  Google Reader, FeedDemon.  I have these two sync'ed up, so I can read blogs on my phone or at home or anywhere I want.

Happy reading!!
